Formed out of growing dissatisfaction with corruption, inefficiency, and centralization within the Republic, the CIS presents itself as an alternative system built on independence and self-determination. Headquartered on Geonosis, the Confederacy operates through a parliamentary structure, though its true power lies in the alliance between political leadership and major corporate entities. These organizations provide not only economic support, but also the industrial and technological backbone required to sustain the Confederacy’s war effort. Unlike the Republic, the CIS does not rely on organic armies as its primary force. Instead, it fields vast numbers of battle droids, allowing for scalable, efficient, and expendable military operations across multiple fronts simultaneously. Origins The rise of the CIS is rooted in long-standing fractures within the Galactic Republic. Outer Rim and Mid Rim systems increasingly viewed the Senate as disconnected from their needs, dominated by Core World interests and corporate influence. Economic exploitation, lack of representation, and delayed responses to regional crises fueled resentment. Over time, these tensions evolved into organized political movements advocating for autonomy. Count Dooku emerged as the central figure of this movement, unifying various dissatisfied systems and corporate powers under a single banner. His leadership transformed scattered dissent into a structured and coordinated secession. Political Structure The CIS operates under a confederate system where member worlds retain a degree of autonomy while contributing to a shared political and military framework. The Separatist Parliament serves as the official governing body, representing the interests of its member systems. However, corporate alliances play a decisive role in shaping policy, often influencing decisions through economic leverage and resource control. This dual structure creates a balance between ideological independence and practical dependence on industrial power. Military Doctrine The Confederacy’s military is defined by scale, efficiency, and adaptability. Its reliance on droid armies allows for continuous deployment without the logistical limitations associated with organic forces. Key elements of CIS military doctrine include: Mass Deployment: Large-scale droid forces overwhelm enemy positions through numbers Attrition Warfare: Sustained pressure designed to exhaust Republic forces over time Experimental Warfare: Integration of advanced technologies, environmental manipulation, and unconventional tactics Logistical Superiority: Strong industrial backing ensures constant production and reinforcement Command structures vary, ranging from traditional military leaders to specialized figures such as engineers, tacticians, and scientific directors who treat warfare as a system to be optimized rather than simply fought. Internal Dynamics Despite its unified appearance, the CIS is not without internal tension. Political leaders, corporate executives, and military commanders often operate with different priorities. While some view the Confederacy as a genuine movement for independence, others see it as an opportunity to expand influence, test new technologies, or reshape galactic power structures. This creates a system that is both flexible and unstable, capable of rapid innovation but vulnerable to internal conflict and competing agendas. The CIS Currently At present, the Confederacy stands as the primary opposition to the Galactic Republic. Its expansion across the Outer and Mid Rim has shifted the balance of power, forcing the Republic into a defensive and reactive position. Through a combination of political pressure, military action, and strategic destabilization, the CIS continues to challenge the Republic’s authority. To its supporters, it represents freedom from a failing system. To its enemies, it is a fragmented coalition held together by ambition, power, and war. Inner Rim Confederacy Basic Information Official Name The Inner Rim Confederacy Capital ? ? ? Political Standing Outlaw Head of State ? ? ? Historical Milestones Founding Circa 955 RSY Major Conflicts The Attack on Ryloth, The Attack on Taris Leaders Ya-zir La, Midar Alrich, Val Horne   About Initially three of the biggest middle-men within the Inner Rim, the I.R.C started out as a successful business. On a dark night in 950 RSY, a ship landed on the planet of coruscant. Among the buildings of coruscant, a meeting took place. Ya-zir La, one of coruscant’s most successful business men, spoke to his two allies; Midar Alrich and Val Horne. An agreement struck between the three, commencing the biggest trade of the year with two exporters. Upon the execution of the trade, the three middle-men received the packages from both companies. The packages included a considerable amount of, after further investigation, illegal heavy weaponry. Upon their depart, the three were never to be seen again. They had effectively stolen some of the most detrimental weapons any normal person could get in their hands. The confederacy is suspected to consist of highly-skilled mercenaries from all around the galaxy, particularly those who come from lavish families.. Judging by their violent attacks, they are no small organization. History The Attack on Ryloth At midnight on 955 RSY, on the planet Ryloth, a ship failing to respond to communications landed. Shortly after being approached by the inhabitants of Ryloth, five men opened fire, effectively killing the inhabitants. An unknown force was oppressing the planet. The five ransacked the planet, stealing any weaponry or resources they could find. After their attack, they left in the place of their landing a message. “Long Live the Inner Rim Confederacy.” The Attack on Taris In the same year, also at midnight, a starship later identified as a stolen freighter landed on the planet of Taris. Similarly, it did not respond to communications. After landing, they did not wait for the approaching. A large group of twenty individuals rushed out of the freighter, invading the planet and stealing scrap and weapons, opening fire on all they could see. A massacre by all means. Being met with minimal resistance, they loaded their loot and left, leaving the same message. After the previous events, no account of the confederacy was ever seen again. People's Secessionist Army BASIC INFORMATION OFFicial name People's Secessionist Army of The Outer Rim unofficial name Karnus' Insurgents Capital Unknown, Assumed Taris political standing Secessionists head of state General Karnus Ra HISTORICAL MILESTONES Founding 972 RSY major conflicts Christophsis Campaign, Prime Campaign, Taris Campaign ADDITIONAL Leaders ? ? ? affiliation Confederacy of Independent Systems Overview The People's Secessionist Army of The Outer Rim is a vast collective of different species that report directly under  General Karnus Ra . Unofficially known as Karnus' Insurgents , most records refer to them simply as Karnus' Insurgents. The Insurgent's origin and area of strongest influence is Taris- where the organization was founded. Since it's debut however, the Insurgents have been seen all throughout the Outer Rim. As of 982 RSY, Karnus' Insurgents has publically aligned with the Confederacy of Independent Systems; gaining the resources associated with the entity. The PSA now serves as a sub-group within the greater  Separatist Military . The People's Secessionist Army are known to utilize sabotage, assassinations, and terror attacks as their staple of fighting style, prefering assymetric warfare over conventional frontlines. The First Attack The Insurgents are known for their first attack on Taris in 972 RSY- detonating a Planetary Militia's Armory. The Insurgents claimed responsibility for the attack- stating the use of force against the citizens of the Outer Rim will met with the use of force to repel the authority of the Core Worlds. This claim was broadcast all over the Holonet- along with Karnus' manifesto- proclaiming the People's Secessionist Army of The Outer Rim. The Christophsis Campaign Placed under the Command of Count Dooku for the early portions of the Campaign, General Karnus and his Insurgents mostly did sapper and scout work to slow down the oncoming Clone Army; laying mines, scouting Republic positions, and sabotaging Republic power sources. Later on in the Campaign, during the third Battle of Leesis City- Karnus took his Insurgents to partake in assymetric warfare in the Planetary Headquarts for the Republic offensive- Tophen City. In Tophen, Karnus deployed his men via mined out tunnels, orbital drop pods, and amongst refugee convoys seeking off-world transport. From there, these Insurgents reported Republic positions, laid down detonater mines along reinforcement and supply routes, and captured and executed a series a Republic Clone Trooper sentries. After the fall of Leesis City- Karnus retreated off-world to Rhen Var to briefly assist High Admiral Pax in dealing with the captured Marshal Commander and Jedi Master Ima Gun-Di. During a Republic incursion to the CIS-held Bravo Base, General Karnus would retreat to his task force in Orbit and accompany the rest of the Reaper's Fleet blockade Numidia Prime. The Numidia Prime Campaign No known information exists- however it is hinted that the Secessionist Army is involved in operations. Separatist Military Basic Information Official Name Confederacy Military ASSUMED Capital Geonosis  Political Standing The Confederacy of Independent Systems.  Leadership Head of State, Count Dooku  High Admiral Pax Sith Assassin Assaj Ventress Admiral Trench General Sever  Admiral Silk  Legate Karnus About Composed primarily of battle droids from the Trade Federation and Techno Union, the Confederacy Military, also known as the Separatist Military, was the armed forces of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Consisting of a large number of battle droids and capable of producing millions of droids on short notice to support the Separatists' agenda throughout the galaxy, the Separatist Military is one of, if not the, largest military powerhouse in the Galaxy. As Head of State for the Confederacy, former Jedi Master Count Dooku seems to have overall authority over the Separatist Military; however, as the Clone Wars rage on, more of the Separatist Military Leadership seems to be revealing itself. Separatist Droid Army The Separatist Droid Army, or more commonly known as the Droid Army, or the Separatist Army, is the ground branch of the Separatist Military. It is the largest military force in galactic history to be formed almost entirely by Droids. The strength of the Separatist Droid Army is based on its ability to overwhelm its opponents with a massive force, focusing on quantity rather than quality. That is not to say that the Droid Army doesn't have a rare few units that are truly dangerous on their own. B1-Series Battle Droids "Roger, Roger." All B1-Series battle droids The B1-Series battle droids, referred to as "B1-Droids" or just "B1s," are the most produced and most commonly used droid variant used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Their strength relies entirely on numbers, as a single B1 unit is typically extremely easy to destroy; however, in larger numbers, they are a force to be reckoned with. They are able to produce some independent thought and are able to act without being directed by command, and in some cases, take the lead of other B1 units if they are promoted in the heat of battle. However, their thinking is very limited, and B1s acting under their own commands are often very easy to outsmart. B1-Series Sniper Droids "Those droids are the worst, lost a whole squad to them on Carida" Unknown 91st Clone Sergeant The B1-Series sniper droids, referred to as "B1 Snipers," are a common variation of the B1 Series; they are almost always seen with red colouring on their standard B1 body. These specialist B1 units are often deployed in small squads and position themselves in various hard to access locations across battlefields. From there, they target clones with impressive accuracy and are often the bane of many Republic commanders' plans. Like the basic B1-Series droids, the B1 snipers are also capable of independent thought. However, they are able to make smarter decisions due to the increased processing power needed to be accurate snipers. Often, B1 Snipers are used in a secondary role in command of B1 units under a B1 Commander. B1-Series Machine Gunner Droids "The green ones aren't too hard to deal with, just don't let them overwhelm you." Unknown Clone Academy Instructor. The B1-Series machine gunner droids, referred to as "B1 Machine Gunners," are another common variation of the B1 Series. They are always seen with a green colouring on their standard B1 body. While most B1s are designed with the strength in numbers doctrine, the B1 Machine Gunners are the real embodiment of this. Due to their high rate of fire, a squad of B1 Machine Gunners can easily hold a segment of a battlefield on their own. The B1-Series machine gunner droids have the same intelligence and independence modules as the standard B1-Series battle droids. B2 Series Super Battle Droids “They aren’t as tough as they look.” Unknown Republic Commando B2 Series Super Battle Droids, referred to as “Super Battle Droids”, are a more costly, but much more deadly, Droid model used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Using wrist blasters and being tougher than an average B1, Super Battle Droids often require careful tactics or multiple squads to handle. While Super Battle Droids are a much deadlier threat than a standard B1 Droid, they are given extremely limited thinking and independence. This is why B2 Series Super Battle Droids are rarely seen in any non-combative role. B2-HA Super Battle Droids “Watch those wrist rockets.”  Common clone phrase. The B2-HA Super Battle Droids are a variant of the B2 Series Super Battle Droid equipped with homing missiles. They are marked with blue colourings on their B2 body, and are often deployed alongside standard B2 models. They have the same processing and independence modules as a B2 Series Super Battle Droid. B2-Juggernaut Super Battle Droids “I’ve seen even Jedi struggle with them.” Clone Sergeant “Hook” The B2-Juggernaut Super Battle Droids, nicknamed “Super B2s” by many Clones, are a variant of B2 Super Battle Droids with red markings. They are often considered one of the most deadly infantry units used by the Droid Army. Unlike a standard B2 Series Super Battle Droid, a B2-Juggernaut is armored with much heavier and more durable armor. This allows them to survive multiple blaster shots before being destroyed. One of the most deadly threats faced by clones are drop pods consisting entirely of B2-Juggernauts, as the lightly armored clones of the Republic Star Fleet are often no match for these droids. They have the same processing and independence modules as a B2 Series Super Battle Droid. Destroyer Droids “Damn it, it’s a Droideka, fall back.” Clone Corporal “Strives” Droidekas, also known as "Destroyer Droids”, or as one clone cadet once called and everyone else decided to stick with “Rollies”, are a highly specialised and costly droid model used by the Confederacy. Able to transform their shape into a ball shape, which is able to accelerate quickly, they are able to easily flank and chase down enemies. Additionally, they are also fitted with a personal deflector shield, making them very difficult to take down without multiple clones or heavy weaponry. Not enough information has been collected about Droidekas to accurately estimate their intelligence and independence. BX-Series Droid Commandos “These guys are my friends.” CT-6465 “Graves”.   Not much is known about these droids, other than that they are referred to as “Commando Droids” by other droid units. It seems they are able to communicate and interact with higher intelligence and independence than B1 units. Reports have been coming in from Ryloth of Commando Units being used as snipers, but with no way to verify, nothing can be known for certain. Armored Assault Tank "AATs begin fire in sector-3012” T-1 - 013 The Armored Assault Tank, often called by its short form “AAT” or by clones who lack creativity, the “Tank” is a medium sized repulsor tank used by the Droid Army. It has one central heavy repulsory cannon and multiple lighter cannons. It is augmented in heavy inches-thick armor, which requires clones to use an RPS or call on the starfighter corps' assistance to deal with in most situations. However, some clone snipers are often able to take out the B1 unit commanding the tank, which often puts it out of order. Rumors of a heavier-hitting and more durable tank, marked in blue paint, have been circulating around the Grand Army. OG-9 Homing Spider Droids “Don’t let it spot you.” Unknown ARC Trooper The OG-9 homing spider droids, often called “Spider Droids,” are, at least so far in the war, the most dangerous droids used by the Droid Army. Able to target clones from massive distances and with the ability to traverse across harsh terrain with no difficulty, the presence of a Spider Droid often changes almost all Republic plans. These droids are also able to target and destroy Republic Starfighters, often resulting in the Republic having to dedicate a large portion of its resources to destroy one. Not enough information has been collected about Spider Droids to accurately estimate their intelligence and independence. Hunter Pods “Where are these droids coming from?” Unknown Clone Captain. Hunter Pods are a version of Drop Pods that can be launched from Droid Factories or other significant Separatist Garrisons. They function similar to Drop Pods; however, so far, only Droids have been seen to be able to survive being deployed in Hunter Pods. Separatist Droid Navy The Separatist Droid Navy, or more commonly known as the Droid Navy, or the Separatist Navy, is the space branch of the Separatist Military. The Separatist Navy is able to produce and deploy warships at staggering speeds.  Similar to their counterparts in the Droid Army, the Droid Navy runs on a doctrine of overwhelming force.  B1-Series Naval Droids “Hey.…?Is that a Republic Fleet?” B1-39132 Identified by the blue markings on their B1 body, the B1-Series naval droids are a variant of B1-Series Battle Droids programmed for naval use. Focusing on navigation, engineering, and naval combat, these droids are the lifeblood of the Separatist Navy. These droids have similar processing and intelligence capabilities as the standard B1-Series; however, they have been programmed with a focus on conducting operations aboard Separatist Naval vessels rather than ground combat. Vulture-Class Starfighters “We have contested airspace.” Unknown Starfighter Corps Flight Leader The Vulture-class starfighter, or more commonly known as “Vulture Droids”, but officially termed as the “Variable Geometry Self-Propelled Battle Droid” is the most common form of starfighter used by the Separatist Navy. While they don’t have the resourcefulness or instinct of an organic pilot, their ability to perform difficult flight maneuvers with ease, maneuvers that only the most trained and experienced organic pilots could do, makes them a threat whenever they are deployed. Droid Tri-Fighters “Evasive maneuvers, you have a tri-fighter on you.” Unknown Jedi Ace Droid Tri-Fighters are exceptionally intelligent droid starfighters that, despite their small size, are highly armed. Designed and programmed for dogfighting, they are among the most dangerous threats any Republic Starfighter pilot could face. As these starfighters are extremely costly to manufacture, they aren’t found in nearly as large numbers as vulture droids, except in rare circumstances such as when the Separatist Head of State visits a battlefield or when a Separatist campaign headquarters is attacked. Hyena-Class Droid Bombers “Take cover now!” Last words of Clone Captain “Shade” Hyena-Class Droid Bombers, or more commonly known as “Hyena Bombers”, are a unique threat on the battlefield. Usually deployed alongside vultures or in the most brutal battles, tri-fighters, these droids are designed to locate and bomb large groups of clones on the ground. While it has not been confirmed, it has been hypothesized by Republic Commanders that these droids have been programmed to target Jedi more than clones. Munificent-Class Star Frigates “How many of those ships do they have?” Rear Admiral Duke Heinz Munificent-class star frigates are, at this point in the war, the most commonly used ship by the Confederacy. They serve the Separatist Navy in multiple roles, due to their ability to quickly overwhelm Republic capital ships, deploy droid pods, and deploy vulture droids and tri-fighters. Munificent-class star frigates are often commanded by B1 Commanders or Tactical Droids.   Recuscant-Class Light Destroyers “B1 Units, if you crash this destroyer, hope that you are destroyed with it.” Admiral Trench Recuscant-class light destroyers are another type of common warship used by the Separatist Navy. While they aren’t as flexible as the Munificent’s, they possess more than enough firepower to make up for it. They are often the first target of the Republic Navy during encounters, as getting overwhelmed by these ships is an all but assured defeat. Recuscant-class light destroyers are often commanded by B1 Commanders or Tactical Droids. Providence-Class Dreadnought “The Sky Shudders” A phrase that brings dread to all clones. The Providence-class Dreadnought is the most deadly and expensive warship used by the Separatist Navy. Capable of taking out Venators, deploying waves of vultures and tri-fighters, launching multiple drop pods, and being able to conduct orbital strikes, they are a massive threat in every engagement. Providence-class Dreadnoughts are often commanded by Tactical Droids or Organic Commanders. Drop Pods “Everyone run, it’s Asajj Ventress” Unknown 5th Fleet Security Trooper Drop Pods, or as some clones call them “Droid Pods,” are spider-like pods that are launched by Separatist Munificent-class star frigates and Providence-class Dreadnoughts. Often used in boarding operations in space battles or to quickly surprise Republic forces on the ground, they are a deadly threat in any theatre of war. So far, all B1 models, all B2 models, droidekas, and organic CIS Commanders like Asajj Ventress have all been drop podded in various locations. Normal Drop Pods seem to be unable to penetrate thick armor or deep into the hulls of Republic Venators. Deep Penetrating Prototype Drop Pods  “Deploy the Deep Penetrating Prototype Drop Pods” Unknown CIS Commander. The Deep Penetrating Prototype Drop Pods are a variant of Drop Pods used only once in the Clone Wars so far. They were used by the Separatists in their attack on the Republic Fleet above Christopsis, and their effects were particularly brutal. Being able to pierce through and deploy droids in almost all parts of a Republic Venator, they managed to surprise and kill many clones, and block access to key locations throughout the Venator, such as the escape pods. Separatist Droid Commanders While the Separatists have in their employ various commanders from many worlds and species, all who have their own unique style and tactics, the general officer-class of the Separatist Military are its Droid Commanders. While if the need calls for it, any B1 unit is able to take a position of command, these Droid Units have been designed for tactical analysis and battlefield leadership. OOM Command Battle Droids “I don’t want this promotion no more…” B1 Commander - 931, recorded during the Final Assault and Liberation of Alderaan. OOM Command Battle Droids, often referred to as “B1 Commanders”, are a highly specialised version of the standard B1-Series Battle Droids, marked by the yellow colourings on their B1 body. These B1 units have additional cognitive and independence modules, allowing them to command and organise other droid units at much higher efficiency. These droids, while not at the level of Tactical Droids, have the intelligence and processing capabilities to manage droid forces on a wide scale. Sometimes used to manage droid forces across a small campaign region, and other times for a specialist role such as managing a Droid Prison camp, they are rather flexible despite their predictable battle tactics. T-Series Military Strategic Analysis and Tactics Droid “It seems my calculations are correct.” Almost every T-Series tactical droid at one point. T-Series Military Strategic Analysis and Tactics Droids, often called “T-1s” or “Tactical Droids,” are an expensive and highly useful droid for the Confederacy. Used as commanders of Droid Forces across regions, fleets, or even entire campaigns, these droids and their superior calculative and analytical ability pose a unique threat to the Republic. While they have intelligence and independence of a much higher level than a B1 Battle Droid, they are not granted the individuality and personality that a Super Tactical Droid has. One downside to the use of these Tactical Droids is the necessity to store critical information inside a T-1’s head, which, if captured and analysed, will often result in tactics, plans, or other secrets of the Droid Army’s operations in a region being accessed. Super Tactical Droids “Clans of Ryloth, observe the Republic’s failures. Their losses grow by the day, born from incompetence, waste, and idiotic mistakes.” Super Tactical Droid, General “Sever”. Not much is known about these droids. Based on the fact that Tactical Droids and other CIS Commanders refer to them as “Super Tactical Droids”, it can be inferred that they are an advanced version of the T-1 Tactical Droids. Only two instances of Super Tactical Droids being used have been seen in the Clone Wars so far. The first is Super Tactical Droid “Bax”, working under High Admiral Pax. The second is General “Sever,” who seems to be responsible for the Separatists' operations on Ryloth.
