Mikey was born into the Hoshigaki clan, known for their unique physical traits and water manipulation abilities. From a young age, he was fascinated by the properties of various herbs and plants, leading him to experiment with creating different blends of tea. Driven by his desire to become a high-ranking medic and fueled by his passion for tea-making, Mikey began combining his water-based chakra with his herbal knowledge to create teas with extraordinary effects. His teas quickly gained a reputation for their exceptional quality and unique chakra restoration properties.
Mikey Hoshigaki, as a Chunin, with many others was invited to assist in their fight against the Kenrai. Through the tea he made, he established a friendship with the Shogun, Valentine Kurogane. His medical abilities were put to the test during the battle, as he and a few others tended to the wounded amidst the conflict with the Kenrai. He even managed to save the Shogun's life after he was struck down by one of the Kenrai Elite. This act earned him the Samurai's respect, and he was honored with the title, “Friend of the Land,” within the Land of Iron.
Mikey's medical prowess began to evolve as he emerged from the Land of Mountains, reaching its zenith when his best friend, Musashi Kurogane, was critically wounded under mysterious circumstances known only to those present. Despite Musashi's previous attempt on his life, Mikey didn't hesitate to save him. He thought of nothing but saving his best friend. He channeled all his strength and applied Galaxy Uzumaki's medical technique to Musashi's wounds, ultimately healing him with the help of Dakota Hyuga. Mikey managed to bring Musashi back home to the Land of Iron, but it was all for naught…
