Keirtz Ket’zom
Overview
Keirtz Ket’zom, known as “The Scavenger”,Scavenger,” is a Twi’lek bounty hunter who operates under the appearance of a neutral scavenger captain. He is not widely known for major battles or large-large scale operations, but rather for smaller, precise contracts that often go unnoticed until their effects become clear. His work rarely draws immediate attention, allowing him to remain active across multiple regions without becoming a priority target.
Most who encounter him see a trader or scavenger moving between systems, dealing in recovered materialsmaterials, salvage, and fragments of information. This approach makes his involvement difficult to trace, as outcomes often appear coincidental or the result of larger ongoing events. His neutrality is often questioned, as his true allegiances remain unclear, shifting only in alignment with the objectives of his contracts.
Keirtz’s operations tend to blur the line between scavenger work and covert activity, making him a valuable but unpredictable figure within the wider conflict. Whether recovering lost assets, extracting individuals, or influencing events from the background, his presence is rarely obvious, but often significant once uncovered.
Early Life
Keirtz was born into a minor clan on Ryloth, where his way of thinking set him apart early on. After losing his parents at a young age, he chose to leave rather than remain dependent on a community that did not accept him. Through a contract with off-world traders, he left Ryloth and eventually arrived on Tatooine. There, he adapted to a more demanding environment, taking on smaller, often illegal jobs and gradually building the skills that would define his work. Over time, he became known for completing tasks reliably.
While working on Tatooine, Keirtz was involved in a contract that led to an encounter with a Rancor. The situation escalated beyond what he had anticipated, leaving him with the loss of one eye and severe damage to the other. Since then, he relies on a visual device that assists his vision, along with a mask that helps him endure the harsh desert conditions that affected his health over time.
Not long after, Keirtz and a small group of individuals he worked with took control of three vessels by eliminating their former captains. The operation was planned and executed carefully, giving him full control over his mobility and resources. From that point on, he began operating independently, taking on larger and more complex contracts.
The War as Opportunity
With the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Keirtz found an environment that suited his way of operating. The constant movement, shifting control of territories, and need for information created opportunities for someone who could move between sides without drawing attention.
He maintains a neutral reputation, allowing him to operate in both Republic and CIS controlled areas. His work often involves infiltration, gathering intelligence, analyzing locations, and recovering targets or materials. While he does not formally align himself with any faction, he frequently takes contracts from the CIS, as their operations provide consistent work, access to resources, and opportunities to test his abilities in more demanding scenarios.
WIPKeirtz commands a small fleet of three vessels, Dust Run, Scrap, and Blind Eye, all of which are modified to appear as civilian ships. This allows him to travel freely while maintaining the capability to carry out covert operations when needed. Each ship serves a practical purpose, from transport to recovery and infiltration. His crew is made up of individuals who value results and survival over ideology. They follow him because his decisions tend to work, and because he avoids unnecessary risks that could compromise the entire operation.
Across the galaxy, Keirtz is generally seen as a neutral scavenger or contractor, someone predictable and relatively safe to deal with. Among CIS contacts, however, he is recognized as a reliable bounty hunter who can handle tasks that require subtlety and planning rather than force. His work rarely draws attention, but it is consistently effective.
