Corfai, a planet located in the Correlian Sector of the Core Worlds, is an ancient planet forged in the Pre-Republic era after Coruscant sent human sleeper ships in 27,500 BBY. Home to one of the oldest civilizations in the sector, Corfai developed into a titan of trade and commerce, its star ports flooding with wealth. Through the Republic's golden era, Corfai stood as the sovereign of commerce in the Southern Core, benefiting from its ancient roots and strategic position.

Society and Culture

Corfai’s society is stratified by economic merit and institutional service, where citizens rise through proven success in state-approved businesses or district governance. Each city is led by a state-approved corporation focused on its growth and economy. These corporations have multiple businesses under them, represented in the Assembly. Businesses are viewed as legal equivalents to city districts, granting elites dual political and commercial power. The population prioritizes trade, guild loyalty, and upward mobility via elected roles, while artisans are ordinary business workers across the corporate hierarchy.

Corfai’s culture venerates commerce as ancient civic virtue, blending Pre-Republic trade traditions with corporatist rituals that equate business acumen to public duty. Festivals honor business owners and successful politicians, art and media celebrate deal-making and merit-based ascent, and social norms reward pragmatic negotiation, corporate allegiance, and disciplined ambition over individual fame.

Government

A meritocratic corporatist republic is a form of government that combines three key ideas: meritocracy, corporatism, and republicanism. As a republic, it has no monarch and is governed by representatives chosen through a structured political system. The corporatist element means that society is represented not only by geographic districts but also by organized groups such as industries, professions, or labor sectors, which have a formal role in governance. Military Significance

Serving as the primary security organization of Corfai, Corfai Security (CorSec, lumped in with Corellia Security as a sub security) is tasked with the protection of the planet’s trade routes, planetary infrastructure, and overall system security. CorSec safeguards Corfai and its visiting outsider traders from pirates and other hostile forces, ensuring the safety and stability required for the planet’s thriving commerce and economic activities. Operating under the authority of the Lieutenant Governor (Master of Security), CorSec embodies Corfai’s meritocratic corporatist values through guild-sponsored assets, corporate-integrated reserves, and leadership advancement based on proven competence in trade protection and operational efficiency.

Corfai Security Fleet

The Corfai Security Fleet consist of Corellian styled corvettes, light cruisers, and patrol frigates, Convoy escort fighters and Orbital defense platforms along with planetary shield stations.

Corfai’s orbital defense force, the Security Fleet patrols the planet and protects commercial shipping. The Corfai Security Fleet is equipped with Corellian styled corvettes, light cruisers, and patrol frigates, sponsored by trade guilds, as well as convoy escort fighters. The Fleet also maintains orbital defense platforms and planetary shield stations to repel external threats.

The Corfai Security Fleet Command is the leading organization responsible for naval operations and planet-wide defenses. Specializing in fleet coordination, convoy protections, and orbital security, it maintains a professional force capable of rapid deployment in response to piracy or invasion, with offers and crews advancing through demonstrated merit in safeguarding Corfai’s economic lifeline

Corfai Security Force

The Corfai Secruity Force consist of Cofai Infantry Regiments, Corfai Law Enforcement., Corfai Diplomatic Services Escorts and Rapid response anti-piracy teams. Corfai’s Security Forces operate on the surface level, usually as law enforcement, customs and investigators, or even Diplomatic Services Escorts. The Corfai Security Forces maintain order within Corfai’s cities and facilities.

The Corfai Security Forces Command oversees ground-based security and internal protection. Specializing in infantry tactics, law enforcement, and specialized escort duties, it collaborates with local districts and corporations to uphold planetary security and respond to domestic threats, ensuring that enforcement supports economic merit and guild loyalty.

Corfai Security Forces often operate as the Trade Customs Enforcers focused on regulatory oversight, tariff enforcement, and the prevention of smuggling and illicit trade activities across Corfai’s star ports and shipping lanes. They work with the other branches to maintain fair commerce and economic integrity, aligning directly with the planet’s corporatist emphasis on structured trade as a civic virtue

Corfai Security Auxiliary

Corfai also have a Security Auxiliary program. This program is consisted of reserved forces from district populations that operates as Corfai military when called upon. They are activated in emergencies or when marital law is declared.

Corfai’s Security Auxiliary serves as the reserve components of CorSec, the Corfai Security Auxiliary bolsters the main forces during emergencies. Composed of reserve personnel drawn from the district populations and corporate employees, these units are active in times of crisis or when martial law is declared/ Merchant marine crews often serve as armed escorts in support roles.

The Corfai Security Auxiliary Command manages the training and mobilization of these reserve forces. Specializing in Emergency Augmentation and support operations, it ensures Corfai can scale its defenses effectively by leveraging civilian and corporate manpower when needed, reinforcing the corporatist principle that every successful citizen and business contributes to planetary resilience.
