The Prosecution of the Ackerman Bloodline

PERIOD 797 AHR
REIGN King Lothair I Fritz

History

The ascension of Lothair I Fritz, the Iron Fist, to the throne was met with high hopes and expectations for the young upstart Monarch. Lothair was just 31 when he ascended to the throne in 797 AHR, and while he was young, many eagerly anticipated the new change in rule, recognizing the young ruler’s unrivaled intellect and braun. Early on, many wondered if he would serve Humanity with the same militaristic goals and interests as his father, Arne I, and few expected his reign to go in any fashion but swimmingly. By previous historic accounts, that is exactly what happened - while Lothair did not take much after his father in terms of expanding the Military and Palace’s arsenal, Lothair has been remembered as a figure who was firm, but fair in his resolve. His moniker - the Iron Fist - was, in large part, attributed to his criminal justice reform, which saw the swift hand of justice being brought down on criminals, harshly, but justifiably.

Yet, these historic accounts of antiquity paint an incomplete picture in light of recent information uncovered, suggesting that Lothair I perpetuated a systematic persecution of the previously unknown Ackerman bloodline. While the exact history of this is muddied and unclear, what is clear is that at the beginning of Lothair’s rule in 797 AHR, members of the Ackerman bloodline were hunted down and massacred, and their existence was largely erased from the history books. It is unknown why Lothair committed these crimes against Humanity, or how it was covered up so well, but it seems that this brief and tumultuous period of history has been lost in the records. As time progresses, more pieces of the story unravel, and perhaps Humanity will get answers as to why such terrible acts were committed against members of a bloodline so near, dear, and faithful to our Monarchy today. One thing remains certain, however - there is new meaning to Lothair I’s title as the “Iron Fist.”

Present Day

The prosecution of the Ackerman Clan has since ceased, as the Ackerman were recognized as valuable warriors. The Ackerman Bloodline are some of the most decorated soldiers of all time, thanks to their family's hidden talents, and are assigned as the personal guard to some of the most important individuals in the Walls.
