Alderaan
Overview
One of the oldest and most respected worlds within the Galactic Republic. Located in the Core Worlds, the planet remains at the heart of galactic civilization, not through military strength or economic power, but through culture, diplomacy, and the commitment to peace. It's known as the planet of beauty, a reputation earned over a millennium, and one that its people wear with quiet pride.
From orbit, Alderaan appears as blue-green orb wrapped in white clouds; its surface is composed of sweeping mountain ranges, dense forests, and wide plains only broken by rivers and polar seas. Cities are built into the landscape rather than cut through it with its stone architecture built to complement the terrain. The planet's philosophy is written into its skyline.
In 981 RSY, that identity comes under pressure. Queen Breha Organa governs from the Royal Palace in Aldera, upholding the traditions that have defined Alderaan for generations. But the population's voice belongs to its senator, Tyrion Goldarn, the first non-noble senator in modern Alderaanian history, and a man whose vision for Alderaan looked nothing like it's past. His rise in politics fractured lines that run deeper than any policy debate. The question facing Alderaan in 981 RSY is no longer about the future of the Republic. It's about what Alderaan itself wants to become.
Society and Culture
The planet produces some of the Republic's most celebrated painters, composers, poets, and architects. Cultural exports reach every corner of the galaxy, from original works and live performances to the celebrated wine. Education holds an important place within the Alderaanian society. It's university draws students from across the Core Worlds and maintains one of the Republic's most respected libraries of philosophy, history, and science.
Once structured by historical noble houses, with the Elder Houses sitting at the top of the political hierarchy. It has cracked. Tyrion Goldarn's election as senator, built on working-class support and a rejection of aristocratic governance, represents a change that the nobility has not accepted quietly. The tension between the new populist movement and the Alderaan's traditional ruling class shapes the planet's internal politics as much as any galactic conflict.
Government
Aldeeraan operates as a constitutional monarchy under Queen Breha Organa, who holds executive authority over internal affairs. The Noble Houses serve as advisors to the Crown, with the Elder Houses holding the greatest influence over domestic policies.
This world seat in the Galactic Senate belongs to Tyrion Goldarn, who has held the title and the position of Senator since 972 RSY. As senator, Goldarn pushes hard for Alderaanian military independence, economic nationalism, and a reduced reliance on the Republic Military for security. His "Blinded By Power" speech in 976 RSY, delivered during a Senate debate on galactic militarization, marked him as one of the most polarizing political voices in the Core Worlds. His hand was strengthened after the capture of a Republic Venator above Alderaanian space exposed what Goldarn had long argued: the Republic cannot be relied upon to protect it's own member worlds. Parliament's response, the Alderaanian Planetary Security Act, passed with majority support and reflects his influence directly.
Active Legislations
Alderaanian Planetary Security Act
Following the capture of a Republic Venator above Alderaanian space, the Alderaanian Parliament voted by majority to enact the Alderaanian Planetary Security Act. The act places a formal national emphasis on independent planetary security rather than reliance on Republic defense efforts. It includes a significant planetary budget allocation toward security development and infrastructure. The act was submitted to Parliament by the Queen's Prosperity Committee and passed with majority support.
Religious Security Act
Following the unreported capture of a Jedi temple on Alderaanian soil by pirate forces, Parliament voted by total majority to increase local security presence around all temple sites and designated religious areas on the planet. Additional units of the Alderaanian Security Forces now station permanently around these areas to ensure safe religious practice and prevent future incidents.
